Welcome to my world- the world known as by betty b. Well you might say who is betty b. and why do I want to read her blog. I ask myself that question everyday as I sit down to write. This is a world according to me- a wife of 30 years, a mother of grown children, a former teacher and retired school counselor, a friend, and a practicing therapist counseling adults, couples, women seeking guidance and support along their journey in this life. If you were to ask my friends, both current and former, they would say I am a realist. I will tell you how I see it, probably a bit more directly than you would like for me to do. I have a rather colorful nickname amongst my friends and frienemies alike. I am sure you can guess - b..chy betty or any version thereof. One of the greatest gifts I have ever received was from my team of counselors at a high school where I served as lead counselor supervising 9 or so members of the team which included counselors, a receptionist, and support personnel for the department. The gift was a bracelet with a simple charm engraved with the letters - H.B.I.C. which represented Head B..ch In Charge. Best present ever and I still wear it today. So to tell you from day to day what will be on my mind and how I will address the issue at hand will be a new adventure and a thrilling journey each and every time. We will explore those topics and issues together- asking the questions, learning the information and identifying possibilities. You may not always agree with how or what I have to say, but I will make you think, and help you to process those thoughts that rise up. My hope is that the journey we take together will educate and enlighten us about that which we have known, think that we know, or hope to know as we continue to grow.
